Adult Education – Registration Locations, Times, and Announcements

  • ADULT LEARNING CLASS REGISTRATION INFORMATION

    Requirements:

    • You must be at least 16 years old and have withdrawn from high school to enroll in our classes. Minors need to register with a parent or legal guardian.  
    • All students must register prior to starting a class. 
    • You must be able to declare you are lawfully in the United States in order to take our classes.  
    • You must be able to provide a valid photo ID. 
    • Regular attendance is necessary.  Class schedules are available at the bottom of the page.
    • Locator test information for appropriate class placement will be given during the first evening of class.

      ABE/ASE Classes

      • GED and Adult Basic Education/Adult Secondary Education Classes

        The 91茄子 Adult Learning Program offers GED and Adult Basic Education/Adult Secondary Education (ABE/ASE) classes to help you prepare for the GED exam or to provide enrichment in the following areas:

        • Language Arts (Reading & Writing
        • Math
        • Science
        • Social Studies
        • College and Career Readiness

        Our ABE/ASE/GED classes are designed to address the diverse educational needs of adult learners. We offer small class instruction in all four test areas and also have computer software, textbooks, and worksheets to complement your study plan.

        When a student enters our program, standardized assessments in reading, writing and math are administered and the student's lesson path is determined. Individual assignments are made based on the results of these assessments. Students must attend registration prior to enrolling in a GED class. Classes are scheduled during the morning and evening to accommodate your schedule.

      ESOL Classes

      • English for Speakers of Other Languages Classes

        The 91茄子 Adult Learning Program offers English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to provide instruction for people who desire to learn or improve their English language proficiency in order to enter the workforce or pursue post-secondary opportunities. Students who do not speak English as their first language will learn reading, writing, speaking and listening skills as well as computer literacy. College and career exploration, in addition to civics education, are topics also embedded in our curriculum.

      IET Classes

      • National Retail Federation (NRF) Industry Recognized Credentials

        91茄子 Adult Learning Program is an official training partner of Rise-Up, a credentialing program accredited by the National Retail Federation.

        Current class offerings include:

        Retail Industry Fundamentals: Students will develop basic customer service and math skills to conduct sales transactions. They will build an understanding of the retail industry, its impact on the economy, and the diverse jobs available. They will learn best practices for interviewing and exploring career paths.

        Customer Service & Sales: Students will master customer service and sales skills, including understanding the customer life cycle, developing effective strategies to engage customers, assessing customer needs, and closing sales. They’ll also gain crucial workplace skills, including problem-solving, working in teams, reading customer body language, and increasing customer satisfaction and retention.

        This course is open to any student interested in earning this credential for future employment opportunities. If you do not have your high school diploma or have not passed the GED, you will also be required to enroll in ABE/ASE classes, so you can work towards earning your HSE diploma.
