How has CTE positively impacted your high school experience?

"The longer I was in classes and the more involved I was, the more I saw the beauties of BioMed and the vast opportunities to understand various subjects in-depth, from antibiotic immunity to fetal diagnostic tests."

What are some skills that you’ve gained from BioScience?

"Tangible skills range from PCR and Pipetting to Gel Electrophoresis and running an EKG. Intangible skills is having GRIT, a constant monthly reminder to have GRIT. I never really thought about GRIT consciously, but I have unconsciously with my own goals, why they’re relevant, who I am inspired to be, gratitude for those that help me, and more in this deep reflective way that I never really tied them all directly to GRIT. Do you have a favorite memory, lesson, or class project from BioScience?

My favorite memory was when we went to Quartz Hill to teach the 3rd graders about the digestive system because we were able to take what we were learning and share it creatively with others.

Why would you recommend CTE courses to your peers?

I would recommend CTE courses to those that have an interest that aligns with an offered CTE program, whether it be Biomedical Sciences or Photography, or any other passion.
