Oak Tree is a student-centered school that has adopted the practice of a growth mindset. Learning is at the core of everything that we do. All stakeholders focus on deeper learning and creating programs to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. Oak Tree takes an innovative approach to intervention and adjusts teaching to the ever-changing needs of students. Oak Tree is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) school, and we believe that this approach creates a culture of critical thinkers and model/productive citizens.

Jenn Laserna, Dean of Students

I am excited to be an Eagle this year and be part of this wonderful community here at Oak Tree. Furthermore, I look forward to working closely with all of you. This is my twentieth year in education and my eighth year with 91茄子 Public Schools.

I started my teaching career in Maryland, as a special educator, working with children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Then became a classroom teacher a few years later, teaching first, third, and fourth graders. For the last four years, I was a math specialist, working with students from kindergarten through sixth grade with math. As an educator, I believe that we must work together to support the emotional, social, and academic well-being of each child.

Parental and community involvement is key to engaging our students in the learning process and supporting them in becoming productive, caring citizens. As part of the Oak Tree team, I will work alongside Mr. Lunt and this staff to always do what is best for students.
