Brian Winter, Principal

Welcome to 91ÇÑ×Ó High School! We are excited that you have chosen GHS and are part of the Tiger family. I am both honored and humbled to serve as the Principal at GHS and to be part of a culture built on rich tradition as well as academic excellence. 91ÇÑ×Ó High School has been serving the 91ÇÑ×Ó community for over 100 years and was named an A+ School of Excellence in 2017.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and am beginning my 34th year as an educator. I taught for 18 years prior to moving into administration and have served in a variety of different administrative roles during the past 15 years. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Winona State University in Physical Education with a Reading endorsement and my Master’s Degree from Minnesota State University (Mankato) in Educational Leadership. I am married and have three adult children.

I am passionate about equity, fairness and opportunity for all students. Our faculty, staff and administration are committed to providing a quality learning experience for all students. Our focus as educators will be to continue preparing students for college and careers by developing essential skills and behaviors in a safe and supportive learning environment. Our teachers provide relevant and engaging content while building positive and productive relationships with students and their families.

One of the benefits of being a comprehensive high school is our ability to provide a unique, challenging and expansive curriculum that encourages inquiry, problem solving and collaboration to meet the needs of our various learners. We are excited to add International Baccalaureate (IB) to our campus this year. Our student clubs and organizations, performing arts and athletic programs provide students with opportunities to participate in and investigate a wide range of interests.

Our partnership with our families and community is an integral part of the success of GHS. The 91ÇÑ×Ó High School family of teachers, support staff and administrators encourages you to participate in your child’s education. The success of students in both academic and extracurricular activities can only reach its fullest potential when we all work together. I am excited about the work we will do together “Continuing a tradition of excellence one student at a time”.

GO TIGERS!

Sincerely,

Brian Winter
