    Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your support in the interest that your child has expressed toward becoming a Desert Ridge Junior High Cheerleader.  Attached is a packet of information you and your child will need to consider before making a decision about tryouts.

All candidates trying out for cheerleading must have registered online at  Aktivate.com, formerly Register My Athlete. You MUST upload the 2023-24  AIA Physical Clearance Forms  and you keep the originals. When registering online, please be sure to state that you are interested in 2nd Quarter CHEER. If you have any questions, please contact our athletic secretary, Kimberly Weamer, at 480-635-2025, x1402.

There will be a three-day clinic before tryouts.  Attendance will be taken at the clinic.  It is highly encouraged that all students attend all three days.  Attendance points are included in the final evaluation of potential cheerleaders.  Tryouts will be held on Thursday, October 19th at 3:30pm.  Tryout results will be disclosed to your student that same evening.

Enclosed are a Signature of Understanding and a Cheerleading Safety Acknowledgement.  Please read and complete the form and have your student bring this form on or before the first day of the clinic which is Monday, October 16, 2023. Give this form to Mrs. Waters.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Mrs. Waters. or Ms. Van Dusen. Thank you for your support of the DRJHS Cheer Program,
