Class of 2024 Important Dates

Dates for 2023/2024 Graduates

  • Hello Class of 2024 and Families ~ We are pleased to announce the following important dates:

    September 13th ~ Senior Assembly - Our Graduation Vendor  will hold Cap & Gown presentations during JCT (9am) in the Auditorium.  AM EVIT students must sign in at the end of the assembly in order to get excused for a Homeschool Activity

    September 15th ~ Picture Retakes in the Auditorium Lobby 7am - 2:30pm...Must have a pass if going during a class. 

    September 21st ~   will be on campus from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in front of the Library to collect orders & answer any student questions. They will also be on campus from 5-7pm in the Lecture Hall to meet with any Parents, Canyon or Global students that have questions. 

    October 2nd - 13th ~ Fall Break

    If you are a Foreign Exchange Student wishing to participate in the Graduation Ceremony...  

    November 17th ~  LAST day to Order Cap & Gowns in Person - 10:30-12:30 in front of the Library

    December 9th ~ Winter Formal 7-10pm in the DRHS Cafeteria

    December 18th & 19th ~ Semester 1 District Finals - ½ day Schedule TBD

    December 20th - Jan 2nd ~ Winter Break

    January 3rd ~ School Resumes

    January 17th ~ Senior Panoramic during JCT in the DRHS Gym. AM EVIT students must sign in at the end of the assembly in order to get excused for a Homeschool Activity. 

    January 23rd ~ Performing Arts and Club Pictures - Please see your teacher/club sponsor for Schedule

    January 26th ~ Senior  due. All photos must be submitted and the ad must be paid in full. 

    January 31st ~ Last day to Order Cap & Gown in time for Spring Break Delivery

    March 7th  ~ Cap & Gown Pre-Orders placed before February 1st through Jostens will be handed out to students in front of the Library from 10:30-12:30. Orders must be paid in full prior to order pick-up.   

    March 8th ~ Golden Scholars Awards - Time TBD 

    1. A cumulative grade point average of 3.80 or higher at the end of semester one, three, five and seven. 

    2. No F’s or I’s on transcripts. 

    3. Students receiving non-competitive grades are not eligible for recognition

    March 11th - 22nd ~ Spring Break

    March 25th ~ School Resumes - Time to start clearing your accounts for graduation. If you have textbooks or novels from previous years, or books for classes you are no longer in, please return them to the bookstore asap. If you have a textbook for a class you are currently enrolled in, you will return that to your teacher at the end of the year. If you have unpaid class fees for this year or previous years, please get those paid as soon as possible. Cash, check and credit/debit are accepted. Please don't wait until the last minute. There is lots going on at the end of the year, so you need to make sure you're clear now. Please stop by the Bookstore if you want to see what's due.

    March Date TBD ~ Cap & Gown Pictures in the Auditorium Lobby from 7am - 1:30pm Students must bring their own Cap & Gown to participate. This is optional for those students who would like the professional picture taken in their cap and gown...not mandatory. (Online Ordering instructions to come at a later time).

    April 26th & 9th ~ Testing Day Schedules…check  or DRHS Calendar for schedule

    April 1st ~  The LAST DAY to order  or any Graduation Items ONLINE.   

    April 17th ~ Senior Meeting during JCT ~ Mandatory for ALL 2024 Graduates. Jostens will be on site with cap & gowns for CASH ONLY purchase and delivering any orders placed after February 1st. Global and Canyon Students…please park in the South Student Parking lot and follow the signs through the main gates. Be there by 8:50 am. AM EVIT students will be excused with a HSA only if they sign the EVIT sign in sheet at the end of the meeting.

    April/May ~ Prom 7-10 pm ~ Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Arizona Science Center 

    Finals Schedule - TBD

    May 13th ~ Seating/line assignments will be posted on the windows of the Library. Check the list to find your row number and East or West side. We recommend that you take a picture of your assignment with your phone, for a quick reference later. Any student whose name does not appear on the list needs to see Mrs. Perkins in the front office immediately.

    May 17th ~ Senior Sunset ~ 6:30 pm Football Practice Field 

    May 17th ~ Seniors can start turning in their Chromebooks All Day to Library if they have completed all class assignments and finals 

    May 19th  ~ Baccalaureate (an inspirational Ceremony) will be held on Sunday May 19, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the DRHS Auditorium. This is an Optional participation for Graduating Students and their families. Students must be in the cafeteria by 2:30pm in their cap and gown.  Seating for all guests will open at 2:30. An email will be sent to students and parents the first week in April to register. This event will be livestreamed on our .   

    May 21st ~ Last day of Classes for Seniors.

    May 23rd ~ Graduation Rehearsal…May 23rd @ 6:45AM. This is mandatory for all students planning to walk at Graduation. Students may NOT leave early so please plan any appointments after 9am. Meet in the Gym

    May 23rd, 2024 ~ The Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2024 will be held from 7-9 pm @ Desert Ridge High School Football Stadium. Graduates must be checked in to their designated Gymnasium Staging Area no later than 6:30 pm sharp. The processional starts promptly at 7 pm … if you are not in line, we will not wait. Gates to the Stadium open @ 5:30 pm and Admission for family & friends is free, but all seating is first come first serve basis. We will have the Auditorium open at 5:30 as well for those who cannot be out in the heat can view our Ceremony Live Streamed. 

    Grad Images will be the Official Photographer for Graduation.  now for Discounted Photos

    May 24th ~ If you choose not to participate in the Graduation ceremony, Diplomas will be available for pick-up after 9am in the front office as long as you have met all of the Graduation requirements. 

    ***Each year we provide directions for seniors to either download or transfer their files from their GPS Google Workspace account to another Google account so they can access any of their files after graduation.   for both the download process and the process to transfer files to a new Google account. The Transfer process requires creating a new account or using an existing personal account to transfer to, and will only allow up to 15 GB.

October Updates

  • We have now closed the 9 week grading period! Make sure you are keeping up with your classes! Make sure you get the 22 credits needed for graduation in all the correct areas; English, Math, Science, Social Studies, CTE, and Electives.

    If you are taking classes online concurrently through Global be sure to log in and make progress towards course completion. Make every day count towards you reaching your goals!

    Speaking of Global. I know this is a far out there date, but April 8th, is the last day to begin a new class. Do not wait, especially, if you are needing the class for graduation.
